With Il Nodo's funds Il Nodo , we finance various projects, mainly focused on education and training.
The aim is to improve the present, but above all the future of young Cambodians. This is why we like to call our work“life projects".
Who we are Social design, the history of Il Nodo
The founders of Il Nodo Il Nodo are designers who recognised in the Khmer artistic tradition a great potential to help the younger generations.
Indeed, design is a powerful tool that can enhance innate local craftsmanship skills, nurture creativity and stimulate the creation of design artefacts of higher aesthetic and formal quality.
With social design, we have created a concrete way to help the workers: the objects become more saleable, also suitable for the international market, and local craftsmen are increasingly in demand.

Social design becomes a school
The Bottegadell'Arte puts social design into practice as a means of enhancing Khmer identity a great and offering new opportunities to young people.
The school's students learn from local masters how to work with raw materials; from internationally renowned designers about creativity and innovation.
The workshop experience enhances their history and provides skills that will change their future.
